A CemAir de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration ZS-DSH performing flight KEM-602 from Johannesburg to Margate (South Africa), was enroute about 30 minutes into the flight when the crew observed a low oil pressure indication for the left hand engine (PW123), shut the engine down and returned to Johannesburg for a safe landing about 60 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 4 hours, then resumed service.

Passengers reported the left hand propeller stopped in flight. On approach to Johannesburg they were told to brace.
