An Air India Boeing 787-8, registration VT-ANE performing flight AI-934 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Kochi (India) with 247 passengers and 11 crew, was enroute at FL370 about 170nm south of Mumbai (India) when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure, the passenger oxygen masks were released. The aircraft diverted to Mumbai for a safe landing on runway 27 about one hour after leaving FL370.

The airline reported the aircraft diverted to Mumbai due to a technical issue.

India's DGCA opened an investigation stating the crew reported the loss of pressurization, the passenger masks deployed. The aircraft diverted to Mumbai.
