An Air Atlanta Icelandic Boeing 747-400 freighter, registration TF-AMP performing freight flight CC-764 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Chicago Rockford,IL (USA), was enroute at FL320 over the Atlantic Ocean about 350nm southsoutheast of Keflavik (Iceland) when the crew received indication of a fault with a fire detection system and decided to divert to Keflavik. The aircraft landed safely on Keflavik's runway 19 about 50 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 17 hours, then continued the journey and reached Chicago Rockford with a delay of about 16 hours.
