A Corendon Airlines Europe Boeing 737-800, registration 9H-TJE performing flight XR-2271 from Nuremberg (Germany) to Palma Mallorca,SP (Spain) with 203 people on board, was enroute at FL330 about 70nm south of Basel (Switzerland)/Mulhouse (France) when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft levelled off at FL100 about 7 minutes later (averate rate of descent about 3300 fpm), and landed safely on Basel's runway 15 about 25 minutes after leaving FL330.

The airport reported 37 passengers were checked for ear pain and possible tinnitus.

Passengers reported some of their fellow passengers had blood coming out of their ears.

On Jun 16th 2022 the SUST reported there were minor injuries. They opened an investigation into the occurrence.
