A Maldivian de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration 8Q-IAK performing flight Q2-274 from Kooddoo Island to Kadhdhoo (Maldives), had already gone around on approach to Kadhdhoo's runway 03 from very low height at about 19:36L (14:36z) due to gusty wind conditions, positioned for another approach to runway 21 and touched down at 19:46L (14:46Z) but went off the runway. There were no injuries.

The airline confirmed the aircraft went off the runway on its second approach in strong winds. There were no injuries.

No weather data are available (Metars or weather reports of a local weather station), locals however report there were thunderstorms over the aerodrome with varying winds up to 60kph (32 knots).
