A Ryanair Sun Boeing 737-8 MAX, registration SP-RZE performing flight FR-2778 from Thessaloniki (Greece) to Krakow (Poland), was climbing out of Thessaloniki when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 and diverted to Sofia (Bulgaria) reporting they had a burning odour in the forward galley. The aircraft landed safely on Sofia's runway 09 about 37 minutes after departure from Thessaloniki.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Sofia for about 3 hours, then continued the journey and reached Krakow with a delay of about 3:15 hours.
