A Polar Air Cargo Boeing 747-8 freighter, registration N857GT performing flight PO-213 from Cincinnati,KY (USA) to Tokyo Narita (Japan), was nearing the top of descent towards Tokyo about 40 minutes prior to estimated landing when the crew reported a hydraulic failure. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 16R and stopped on the runway with open gear doors.

The runway was closed for about an hour until the aircraft was towed off the runway.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Tokyo about 20.5 hours after landing.
