A SriLankan Airbus A321-200, registration 4R-ABQ performing flight UL-131 from Colombo (Sri Lanka) to Tiruchirappalli (India) with 134 people on board, was on approach to Tiruchirappalli's runway 27 when the left hand engine (V2533) ingested a bird. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.

The aircraft was unable to depart for the return flight UL-132. The passengers for UL-132 were taken to hotels.

The aircraft remained on the ground in India for about 35 hours, then performed the return flight and reached Colombo with a delay of 33.5 hours.
