A Smartavia Boeing 737-700, registration VQ-BBI performing flight 5N-503 from St. Petersburg to Syktyvkar (Russia), landed on Syktyvkar's runway 18 when the aircraft collided with a fox, rolled out and briefly stopped on the runway for an inspection. The aircraft subsequently turned around to backtrack the runway to the apron.

The aircraft departed for the return flight 5N-1504 on schedule about one hour after landing.
