An Atran Aviatrans Cargo Airlines Boeing 737-400 freighter, registration VP-BCJ performing flight V8-8507 from Ulan Ude to Novosibirsk (Russia), was climbing through FL220 out of Ulan Ude when the crew descended the aircraft to FL090 reporting a cargo door indication. The aircraft diverted to Irkutsk (Russia) for a safe landing about 70 minutes after leaving FL220.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Irkutsk for about 11 hours, then continued the flight and reached Novosibirsk with a delay of about 13 hours.
