An Air India Express Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration VT-RKM performing flight 9I-714/AI-714 from Chandigarh to Dharamsala (India) with 32 people on board, was on approach to Dharamsala's Kangra/Gaggal Airport about 20nm before touchdown when a bird impacted the aircraft at the right hand wing root. The aircraft continued for a safe landing. There were no injuries, the aircraft received substantial damage however.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Dharamsala about 25 hours after landing.

The airport reported 32 people on board, but also mentioned 45 people on board (which possibly is the number of passengers booked onto the next leg to Delhi).
