A LATAM Brasil Airbus A320-200, registration PR-TYQ performing flight JJ-3455 from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP to Porto Alegre,RS (Brazil) with 129 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL360 about 300nm northnortheast of Porto Alegre when the crew donned their oxygen masks and initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure. The passenger oxygen masks were not released. The crew stopped the descent at FL180 and continued to Porto Alegre for a safe landing about 55 minutes later.

Brazil's CENIPA reported there were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft. The occurrence was rated a serious incident, however, no investigation was opened.
