A MAS Air Cargo Boeing 767-200 freighter, registration N773AX performing freight flight MA-1820 from Mexico City (Mexico) to Los Angeles,CA (USA) with 2 crew, was on final approach to Los Angeles' runway 25L when the crew went around and requested to enter a hold advising they had flight control issues. The aircraft climbed to 5000 later 6000 feet in the hold and advised after about 20 minutes they were now ready for the approach and declared emergency again reporting flight control issues. The aircraft was vectored for a final approach to runway 25R and landed safely about 30 minutes after the go around.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 11 hours, then departed for the next sector to Guadalajara (Mexico).
