A Thomas Cook Airbus A330-200, registration G-OMYT performing flight MT-324 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Cancun (Mexico), was climbing through FL345 about 5nm south of Belfast's Aldergrove Airport,NI (UK) when the crew aborted the climb, drifted down to FL250 and returned to Manchester for a safe landing about 75 minutes after departure.

A listener on frequency reported the crew had shut down the right hand engine (Trent 772).
