A MASWings de Havilland Dash DHC-6-300 Twin Otter on behalf of Malaysia Airlines, registration 9M-MDO performing flight MH-3562 from Miri to Marudi (Malaysia) with 17 passengers and 2 crew, landed on Marudi's runway 10 at around 14:40L (06:40Z) but veered left off the runway, knocked the perimeter fence down and came to a stop with the nose descended into a ditch about 20 meters left of the left runway edge. One passenger received an injury to a leg, the other occupants remained uninjured. The aircraft received substantial damage to nose, nose gear and left wing.

According to AIP Malaysia Marudi features an asphalt runway 10/28 of 800 meters/2625 feet length and 24 meters/80 feet width.
