A UTAir Boeing 737-500, registration VQ-BAE performing flight UT-558 from Makhachkala to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 128 passengers and 6 crew, was enroute at FL340 southeast of Voronezh (Russia) when the crew initiated a rapid descent initially requesting a descent to FL240 reporting problems with the cabin pressure. The aircraft levelled off at FL180 and continued the flight to Moscow, where the aircraft landed safely about one hour later.
