A Serve Air Cargo Boeing 727-200 freighter, flight from Kinshasa N'Djili (DR Congo) to an unknown destination, returned to N'Djili Airport shortly after departure due to a hydraulic fault. The aircraft vacated the runway onto a taxiway and stopped clear of the runway. The crew evacuated via slides. After the crew had evacuated the aircraft began to roll backwards, crossed the runway and came to a stop on soft ground past the runway lifting the nose gear temporarily off the ground.

Serve Air Cargo (DR Congo) operates 5 Boeing 727-200 freighters with the tail numbers 9S-ASS, 9S-AVN, 9S-AVS, 9S-AVV and 9S-AVZ.
