A KLM Boeing 747-400, registration PH-BFI performing flight KL-612 (dep Oct 31st) from Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), landed on Amsterdam's runway 18R (Polderbaan), all 4 tyres of the right body gear however burst during the roll out and the wheels were partially ground down as result of the right body gear strut rotated by about 45 degrees out of direction of movement. The crew called "Mayday, Mayday, Mayday, fire brigades please" during the roll out. The aircraft stopped on the runway at high speed turn off V2 and was disabled. The passengers disembarked onto the runway via stairs and were bussed to the terminal.
