Rossiya A320 at St. Petersburg on Jan 16th 2020, cabin did not properly pressurize

A Rossiya Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Aeroflot, registration VP-BZR performing flight SU-6344 from St. Petersburg to Murmansk (Russia), was clumbing through FL230 out of St. Petersburg when the crew descended the aircraft to FL100 again and turned the aircraft around. Subsequently the aircraft climbed to FL200 and turned around again continuing the flight to Murmansk subsequently climbing the aircraft to FL230. The aircraft landed safely in Murmansk about 2 hours after departure.

The aircraft performed the return flight at FL100 all the way back.

On Feb 8th 2020 Rosaviatsia reported the cabin did not properly pressurize due to significant damage to the aft cargo door seal, which caused the air conditioning system to be unable to maintain needed cabin pressure due to air rushing out through the seal. The materials in the seal were naturally aging weakening the seal. Rossiya were instructed to perform a one time inspection of their luggage and cargo compartment door seals throughout the entire fleet, the airworthiness department was instructed to assess the reliability of the door seals of the A320s.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in St. Petersburg for about 50 hours before returning to service.
