There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained minor if any damage.

Iran's AIB reported the aircraft was to turn off the runway via taxiway A and came to a stop between taxiways A and B.

The airline reported there had been no technical defect, the aircraft skidded when it attempted to turn onto the taxiway.

On Feb 2nd 2020 Iran's AIB released a short note in Persian stating that the aircraft overran the end of the runway due to snow and rain and subsequently went off the paved surface of the runway to the right about 15 meters ahead of taxiway A. The aircraft came to a stop with the nose gear 10 meters off the right runway edge and the right main gear 3 meters off the right runway edge, both on soft ground sinking about 30-35cm into the soft ground, the left main gear remained on the paved surface of the runway edge. The crew immediately notified tower, the passengers disembarked onto the runway via the aft left door and mobile stairs. The aircraft was subsequently towed back onto the runway, the #1 engine was started and the aircraft taxied to the apron. Later the aircraft positioned back to Tehran without passengers. The CAO rated the occurrence an incident and decided to not open an investigation according to ICAO Annex 13. Iran Air is conducting an internal investigation and is going to report their results to the AIB.
