A Cetraca Aviation Service LET L-410, flight from Goma to Butembo (Democratic Republic of Congo) with 15 passengers and 3 crew, landed on Butembo's runway in bad weather but veered off the runway at about 15:00L (13:00Z) and came to a stop past the end of the runway on a slope with the nose and left main gear collapsed as well as damage to the left wing. No injuries occurred, the occupants disembarked on their own before emergency services reached the scene.

Officials reported the weather probably was a contributing factor to the accident.

Butembo Airport (Coordinates N0.1170 E29.3131) offers an unmarked runway of 770 meters/2530 feet length in an approximate direction 14/32.

Cetraca Aviation Service operate two L-410s with the registrations 9Q-CAZ and 9Q-CKX. According to unconfirmed gossip 9Q-CAZ was involved in the accident.
