A Dragonair Airbus A330-300, flight KA-859 from Shanghai Hongqiao to Hong Kong (China), was enroute near Xiamen (China) when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine down and decided to divert to Xiamen for a safe landing.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto flight KA-605 from Xiamen to Hong Kong and reached their destination with a delay of 5.5 hours.
