A Med-View Airline Boeing 737-500, registration 5N-BQM performing flight VL-2105 from Abuja to Lagos (Nigeria) with 28 passengers and 6 crew, had been enroute at FL320, had just passed the top of descent and was descending towards FL160 when the cabin altitude horn sounded prompting the crew to don their oxygen masks and initiate an emergency descent (without informing ATC), the passenger oxygen masks deployed automatically. The aircraft was cleared to FL080, at FL080 the crew confirmed the situation in the cabin was normalizing, requested priority into Lagos and were vectored for a safe landing on runway 18L about 20 minutes after the cabin altitude horn sounded.

Nigeria's AIB reported the occurrence was not reported to them, they became aware through local media reports. The CVR was already overwritten when the investigators arrived, the passenger service units were still open, the passenger oxygen masks switch was still in the NORM position. The aircraft experienced a loss of cabin pressure on descent, the crew "requested for priority landing without initially disclosing the nature of the emergency." The captain (34, ATPL, 8,200 hours total, 7,500 hours on type) was pilot flying, the first officer (31, ATPL, 875 hours total, 264 hours on type) was pilot monitoring.
