An Air Canada Rouge Boeing 767-300, registration C-GHLQ performing flight RV-1629 from Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 290 people on board, landed on Toronto's runway 05, when tower observed sparks and possibly flames from the aircraft and initiated a response by emergency services. The aircraft slowed, vacated the runway and stopped on taxiway H. Debris on and damage to the runway was reported and runway 05 was closed. A visual inspection by emergency services did not identify anything of concern, however, as soon as the aircraft began to taxi again sparks became again visible from the left main gear.

The Canadian TSB reported a maintenance crew discovered a broken linkage on the left main gear which dragged on the ground causing the sparks. The linkage was secured and the aircraft towed to the apron.
