A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N559JB performing flight B6-227 from Newark,NJ to Orlando,FL (USA) with 135 passengers and 5 crew, was climbing out of Newark when the crew stopped the climb at FL260 reporting the smell of smoke in the cockpit and decided to divert to New York's JFK Airport,NY (USA). The aircraft landed safely on JFK's runway 22R about 35 minutes after stopping the climb at FL260.

A replacement A320-200 registration N657JB reached Orlando with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The airline reported the crew noticed an electrical odour.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 9.5 hours after landing.
