A Condor Boeing 757-300, registration D-ABOL performing flight DE-2909 from Antalya (Turkey) to Leipzig (Germany) with 217 passengers, was climbing out of Antalya's runway 36C when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (RB211) down, levelled off at 4000 feet and returned to Antalya for a safe landing on runway 36R about 35 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration D-ABUH reached Leipzig with a delay of 14 hours.

Passengers reported they saw streaks of flames out the engine.

The airline confirmed the engine was shut down.
