Mocambique Expresso E145 at Maputo on Sep 30th 2019, runway excursion on landing

A Mocambique Expresso Embraer ERJ-145, registration C9-MEH performing flight TM-165 from Nacala to Maputo (Mozambique) with 25 passengers and 4 crew, landed on Maputo's runway 05 in gusting cross winds at about 16:50L (14:50Z) but veered left off the runway and came to a stop with all gear on soft ground entangled with bushes. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage.

The airline reported the crew felt a quick and sudden slip of the aircraft and attempted to correct the movement of the aircraft, however, the aircraft left the side of the runway. The 25 passengers and 4 crew left the aircraft safely. At the time of the landing the wind was at 50 miles. An investigation has been opened.

On Jan 17th 2020 The Aviation Herald learned a number of frame sections were bent (structural damage), the radome was crushed, the forward fuselage received creases and dents, the left hand side sensors were damaged (e.g. the left AoA vane fractured, left TAT probe was clogged, left pitot probe dented and bent ...), the leading edges of the wings received dents, the landing gear and gear doors received impact damage, a number of fan blades received nicks due to foreign object ingestion while in reverse thrust to slow and stop the aircaft.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Maputo standing Jun 20th 2021, almost 2 years after the occurrence. However, on Jun 20th 2021 The Aviation Herald learned, that following delays due to Corona Pandemic repair of the aircraft has commenced.
