A GoAir Airbus A320-200, registration VT-WAL performing flight G8-532 from Ahmedabad to Kolkata (India), was in the initial climb out of Ahmedabad's runway 23 when the aircraft received a bird strike prompting the crew to return to Ahmedabad for a safe landing on runway 23 about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A320-200N registration VT-WGD reached Kolkata with a delay of about 5 hours.
