An American Eagle Embraer ERJ-135, flight MQ-4486 from Detroit,MI to New York La Guardia,NY (USA), was on final approach to La Guardia's runway 22 when a bird struck the aircraft. The crew continued for a safe landing on runway 22 and taxied to the apron.

The FAA reported the aircraft received damage to an engine cowling.
