An Aerosucre Colombia Boeing 737-200, registration HK-5026 performing a flight from Puerto Carreno to Bogota (Colombia) with 2 flight crew and one technician on board, was on final approach to Bogota's runway 13R at about 13:55L (18:55Z) in gusting winds, rain and thunderstorms over the aerodrome. The crew was visual with the runway and decided to continue landing. After main gear touch down, while lowering the nose gear onto the runway the crew lost visual contact due to intensifying rain however causing the aircraft to veer off the runway. The crew managed to steer the aircraft back onto the runway and taxied to the apron.

Colombia's GRIAA rated the occurrence a serious incident and reported the aircraft sustained damage to the landing gear, the left hand flaps, left hand belly of the aircraft and the fuselage. The left hand engine took in grass.
