A Fedex Boeing 757-200, registration N953FD performing freight flight FX-1557 from Washington National,DC to Cincinnati,KY (USA) with 2 crew, was on approach to Cincinnati descending through about 10,000 feet when the crew reported they had shut down an engine (RB211). Upon requested to selected emergency transponder code, the crew selected the code for unlawful interference causing a puzzled ATC inquiry "is the cockpit secure?" followed by ATC telling the correct emergency code. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Cincinnati's runway 27 about 10 minutes later. The aircraft vacated the runway and taxied to the apron without stopping.

The FAA reported the crew declared emergency due to an engine out.
