An AZAL Azerbaijan Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration 4K-AZ11 performing flight J2-35 from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Milan Malpensa (Italy), was on approach to Malpensa when the crew entered a hold at 3000 feet due to a problem with the flaps. The crew subsequently positioned for an approach to runway 35R and landed safely at a higher than normal speed (about 175 knots over ground) and taxied to the apron.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2.5 hours, then departed for the return flight J2-36.
