An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FNAJ performing flight AC-746 from Montreal,QC (Canada) to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 92 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing through about 15000 feet out of Montreal when the crew observed vibrations on the right hand engine, reduce the engine to idle thrust, declared emergency and returned to Montreal for a safe landing about 35 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported after the aircraft had landed an "ENGINE FAIL" message appeared on EICAS. A post flight inspection did not reveal any apparent damage, however, a squeaking noise could be heard when the engine was rotating. The engine was replaced.
