An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N960AN performing flight AA-2380 from Columbus,OH to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA), was climbing out of Columbus' runway 28L when a number of birds impacted the aircraft. The crew stopped the climb at 3000 feet and returned to Columbus for a safe landing on runway 28L about 20 minutes after departure.

The airline reported the damage caused by the bird strikes is being assessed.

The airport reported the aircraft flew through of flock of geese and received a number of bird strikes.

The flight was cancelled.
