An AeroContractors Boeing 737-500, flight AJ-133 from Lagos to Abuja (Nigeria), was climbing out of Lagos when a generator failed prompting the crew to return to Lagos for a safe landing.

The airline denied media reports of an engine failure stating a generator had failed. The crew started the APU and decided to return to Lagos as a precaution.
