A Grozny Avia Yakovlev Yak-42, registration RA-42379 performing flight GOZ-727 from Nalchik to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 36 passengers and 8 crew, was climbing out of Nalchik when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds and suffered multiple bird strikes. The crew returned to Nalchik for a safe landing.

Rosaviatsia reported that fan blades of left (#1) and right (#3) hand engines received damage, the right nose gear landing light was smashed.
