An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FKCO performing flight AC-700 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 97 passengers and 5 crew, was on final approach to La Guardia Airport's runway 04 when the crew received a nose gear steering fault message, went around from about 1000 feet AGL, worked the related checklists, declared PAN PAN and continued for a safe landing on La Guardia's runway 04 about 35 minutes after the go around. The aircraft was able to taxi to the apron on own power.

Canada's TSB reported maintenance replaced the Landing Gear Control and Interface Unit (LGCIU) #2 and released the aircraft back to service after testing the nose gear steering.
