A PSA Airlines Canadair CRJ-200 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N262PS performing flight AA-5142 from Charlotte,NC to Mobile,AL (USA) with 54 people on board, was on final approach to Mobile's runway 33 when the crew went around from about 1000 feet AGL due to an unsafe nose gear indication. The aircraft climbed to 3000 feet and entered a hold while the crew was working the according checklists and succeeded in receiving a down and locked indication for the nose gear, too. The aircraft landed safely on runway 33 about 25 minutes after the go around.

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight about 2:40 hours after landing.
