An Joon Airbus A340-300 on behalf of Air France, registration F-GLZO performing flight AF-247 from Mahe (Seychelles) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), departed Mahe's runway 31 and was climbing out of Mahe when the #3 engine (CFM56, inboard right hand) developed vibrations prompting the crew to reduce the engine to idle thrust, stop the climb at FL250 and return to Mahe for a safe landing.

The Syechelles AIB reported 4 fan blades were damaged, supposedly because of a bird strike. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by Seychelles AIB.
