A Fedex Avion de Transport Regional ATR-42-300 on behalf of Mountain Air Cargo, registration N914FX performing freight flight MTN-8553 from Minneapolis,MN to Duluth,MN (USA), dropped the left nose wheel on departure from Minneapolis. The crew continued the flight to Duluth, performed a low approach to runway 03 which confirmed the wheel was missing and entered a hold to burn off fuel. The aircraft landed safely on runway 09 about 80 minutes after the low approach.

The missing wheel has so far not been located.
