A Mesa Airlines Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of United, registration N86350 performing flight UA-6180 from Houston Intercontinental,TX to Norfolk,VA (USA), was climbing out of Houston when the crew stopped the climb at FL290 due to some problem with the cabin pressurization. About 20 minutes later the crew decided to return to Houston, descended to FL280 and landed safely back in Houston about 1:50 hours after departure.

A replacement ERJ-175 registration N84307 reached Norfolk with a delay of 12.5 hours.

A passenger reported they were told the aircraft returned due to cabin pressurization problems.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service 64 hours after landing back.
