An Allegiant Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N254NV performing flight G4-2292 from Orlando Sanford,FL to Syracuse,NY (USA), was in the initial climb out of Sanford's runway 27R when the crew reported they took a bird on departure and needed to return to Sanford. The aircraft stopped the climb at 4000 feet and entered a hold, the crew advised they were too heavy for an immediate return. The crew advised they were not declaring emergency, they did have high vibrations though. A runway inspection found a couple of feathers on the runway east of intersection with runway 18/36. The A320 landed safely on runway 27R about 30 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported they notice the engines were no longer running at full power shortly after departure, the crew announced they had a bird strike and they would fly around a little to burn fuel. The aircraft landed safely back, a replacement aircraft departed with a delay of 3:50 hours.

A replacement A320-200 registration N249NV reached Syracuse with a delay of 3:50 hours.
