On Aug 10th 2018 Switzerland's SUST reported the occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated. The Boeing 777-300 came into dangerous proximity to a motor aircraft performing aerobatics.
On Dec 22nd 2023 the SUST released their final factual report in German only without conclusions stating, that the light aircraft had accelerated while descending to 4100 feet and then performed a looping that took the aircraft up to 4900 feet, while the Boeing 777 was being vectored for approach at 6000 feet MSL. The Boeing received a TCAS Traffic Advisory shortly followed by a Resolution Advisory to climb, climbed about 400 feet as result of the resolution advisory. The SUST commented in their analysis that the performance of aerobatics below a TMA, where aircraft are vectored for approach at 6000 feet, demonstrates low understanding of the general situation.
