An Endeavor Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of Delta Airlines, registration N925XJ performing flight 9E-3296/DL-3296 from New York La Guardia,NY to Portland,ME (USA), landed on Portland's runway 29.

The FAA reported the crew subsequently reported a bird strike that caused damage to the left hand wing. The damage is being assessed.

The occurrence aircraft was able to depart for the return flight 9E-3336/DL-3336 and reached New York with a delay of about 1.5 hours.
