An Air Malta Airbus A320-200, registration 9H-AEO performing flight KM-186 from Malta (Malta) to Cagliari (Italy), was climbing through FL240 out of Malta when the crew decided to return to Malta due to a problem with the weather radar. The aircraft landed safely back about 30 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 2 hours, then departed again and reached Cagliari with a delay of 2:40 hours.

The airline confirmed the aircraft returned to Malta due to an issue with the weather radar. The aircraft was repaired and departed again.
