A Spicejet Boeing 737-800, registration VT-SLE performing flight SG-85 from Ahmedabad (India) to Bangkok (Thailand) with 188 people on board, had backtracked runway 23 for departure, turned around and was accelerating for takeoff from runway 23 when the crew rejected takeoff due to a burst tyre. The aircraft slowed safely and came to a stop about 2000 meters/6600 feet down the runway and was disabled.

The airport was closed until the aircraft could be towed to the apron.

The airline reported there was a tyre burst during the takeoff roll, the pilots brought the aircraft to a halt. The passengers disembarked normally.
