A SAS Scandinavian Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration LN-RRH performing flight SK-4743 from Oslo (Norway) to Brussels (Belgium), was enroute at FL400 about 100nm northeast of Amsterdam (Netherlands) when the crew reported smoke in the cabin and decided to divert to Amsterdam, where the aircraft landed safely on runway 36R about 23 minutes later.

The airline reported a number of passengers observed smoke in the cabin prompting the precautionary diversion, the smoke dissipated prior to landing. The aircraft was to be checked. The passengers would be sent onto their way to Brussels as soon as possible.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Amsterdam for about 4 hours, however, then positioned back to Oslo.
