A Lufthansa Airbus A321-100, registration D-AIRK performing flight LH-2462 from Munich (Germany) to Helsinki (Finland) with 158 passengers on board, was enroute at FL350 about 50nm south of Berlin (Germany) when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (V2530) down and diverted the aircraft to Berlin Tegel for a safe landing on runway 08L about 20 minutes later.

The airport reported the aircraft landed single engine.

The airline confirmed the aircraft landed safely with one of two engines operating.

A replacement A320-200 registration D-AIPB reached Helsinki with a delay of 3 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Berlin about 5 hours after landing.
