An American Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration N718AN performing flight AA-126 from Hong Kong (China) to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA), landed on Dallas' runway 36L when upon touchdown a passenger service unit (PSU) separated and fell from the cabin ceiling. The aircraft rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron.

A mother with her toddler in her lap claimed the PSU fell onto the head of her toddler, however, declined offers by cabin crew to request medical assistance at the gate. She later complained about the (lack of) follow up by the airline. The mother and infant continued on a connecting flight.

The airline reported the aircraft was inspected and repaired. An examination is under way to determine why the PSU fell from the ceiling.
