A LOT Polish Airlines Embraer ERJ-170, registration SP-LDG performing flight LO-253 from Warsaw (Poland) to Luxembourg (Luxembourg) with 42 people on board, was enroute at FL380 when the crew received an EICAS message "ENG 2 FUEL IMP BYPASS". The crew worked the related checklist and continued the flight to Luxembourg for a safe landing.

The return flight had to be cancelled.

On Apr 6th 2018 Poland's PKBWL reported due to lack of technical support in Luxembourg the return flight had to be cancelled. The aircraft ferried to Warsaw the following day. The #2 fuel filter was replaced. A measurement on the Fuel Management Unit (FMU) revealed a short between pins 12 and 13 on P17, the FMU was replaced. The PKBWL concluded the cause of the in flight event was the short circuit between the pins 12 and 13 of P17.
